Not Your Ordinary Leaf

Who likes leaves? Well, I do.

It is a common knowledge that leaves are green because of the chlorophyll present in them necessary for the food making process of plants. So, when you asked kids, “what is the color of the leaves?” the expected answer should be, “ green”.

I was wearing this skirt when I was having one of my kindergarten classes and I was teaching about colors. I show the color and they have to tell me the color’s name in English. Then, I usually ask what the colors of the common things that we see around us like leaves and fruits.

This was how that class happened:

Me: What is the color of a leaf?

Kids: Green!!!

One kid: white and blue.

Me: Is there a white and blue leaf?

One kid: Yes.

Me: Where?

One kid: On your skirt.

I laughed and I just couldn’t explain how my skirt’s leaves are not the ordinary leaves.

I seriously love this skirt but I just couldn’t tell you where I got it because I usually buy my flowery dresses and skirts from this old woman who sews them. She always sells these clothes in the bus stop where I wait for my bus every night after my tutorial classes. She doesn’t always stay there so I guess I’m kind of lucky when I see her.

I wear this when I feel like I want to look girly, dainty and conservative. Paired it with a ZALORA Basics Woven Blouse, ZALORA Basics Ankle Strap Heel and my favorite Something Borrowed Metal Zip Lock Boston. I really love this bag because I just can put in it my camera.
